Children's Day 2019

Date: July 20th 2019

Children's Day 2019 started with the prayers of the Children and with glorious sunshine and an early Pastor! What more could you want on a what was turning out to be a beautiful Sabbath. And that was what it was. The Church was so full, more chairs had to be put out. With all the children in the programme for the day in attendance, all was well with the programme. A beautiful Sabbath it certainly was.

Special Song - Grace by Laura Story©

This is a cover of the song Grace by Laura Story. This is a song full with spiritual meaning and emphasis. Emphasis on man's fallen state in sin and God's wide encompassing love for all irrespective of such a complete fall from grace. Laura Story's life is a great testimony of her rise in faith and her songs depict just how much she owes to God for her spiritual redemption - everything! These are the songs that the Children's department loves to sing. The Church does not own this copyright. Grace is part of the "God of Every Story" studio album song by Laura Story. Mediation Song - Guiding Light©

This song has a very special meaning for many people. The song was performed with singer Donna Taggart and the Omagh Community Youth Choir. It was written by Foy Vance. The Choir was created in the wake of the Omagh bombing 21 years ago. It was a direct response to the tragedy that befell that town in those dark days of the Troubles. The Choir has since been around the world, performing at Glastonbury and the Royal Variety. The actual video of Guiding Light with the Omagh Choir and Donna Taggart is deeply moving and should be seen. Copyright is owned by Celtic Lady Productions 2018.

The Sermon - Children Of God

Pastor Douglas as had a long history with Wolverhampton and some of our members here will remember her, particularly has Sister Dell's daughter. Her family is from Wolverhampton and she was a pastor here at Bilston SDA at one time. She is currently the Children's Ministries director of the NEC and is here today to celebrate our Children's Day and give emphasis to the milestones the children of our little church have made to see this day. The theme for the day is - we are children of God.

Special Song - Rescue Me by Lifetree Kids©

A great spiritual and soulful song that comes from the heart. This is a really moving song with simple actions that are expressive and easy to learn. It identifies with our sinful state and the need for Christ to 'rescue' all from sin. It was song to close the Worship segment. Thanks to Lifetree Kids for this beautiful song - Rescue Me. The copyright is owned by GroupMusic 2018. The song is from the album - 'Favorite Songs from Shipwrecked: Rescued by Jesus'

Light Of The World - Lifetree Kids©

Another one of those fun songs the children are happy to sing. The copyright belongs to Group Publishing. With over 5 millions views on YouTube it is easy to understand just how popular this action song is. With a powerful presentation and words that offer hope for today and tomorrow, the Children's Choir will be singing this song for awhile. Thanks to Cave Quest VBS and Lifetree Kids for the music video.

Celebrating the Milestones by Pastor P. Douglas

The afternoon program was designed for the Coming Of Age ceremony. Along the way, T. Malcom presented the Church with a well-played musical interlude. The PowerPoint class performed a play entitled – The Runaway Slave. The script was based on Philemon 1. After the play, Pastor Douglas made her presentation of the books to the children of the Church.

Never Let Go Of You by Lifetree Kids©

A very animated song with a strong vibrant beat that really gets the children 'rocking' to the beat. This was a very difficult song to learn to sing. There are a number of sections that had to be choreographed and time was short. Even so, the children did wonderfully and proved just how good they are with adaptation and having a good time, and thats just what this song is about (we did have to sing it with the vocals in the background to keep the timing right).

The song speaks of the great storms of life that everyone will experience, yet as hard as things will get, God is there to carry you through, all that is needed is to hold on Him because He will never let go of you.

Thanks to Lifetree Kids for this great song - Never Let Go Of You. The copyright is owned by GroupMusic 2018. The song is from the album - 'Favorite Songs from Shipwrecked: Rescued by Jesus'
