What is a Pastor? Answer: Something that You Eat With Cheese!

Pastor Paul Liburd on Family Life Day at Bilston SDA Church. He became famous when he asked the question - what does Pastor mean? One answer he said was something that you eat with cheese!. Fortunately, there was no such answer here at Bilston SDA Church for him!

His job for the morning was to take care of their minds and he told the story of David and Goliath with a difference. Listen here:

Pass It On - The Kindness!

Let's not be selfish, let's us do what is unexpected. Lets do things that are not expecting to be paid for, because we may not be paid down here, but our treasures will be laid up in heaven.

Let's hear the story from our very own storyteller - the Angel Lady:

Children: Tomorrow's Leaders!

On August 21st Wolverhampton Central SDA Church hosted a one week community campaign. The title of the campaign “Now is the Time – It’s Time to make a Change” was designed to attract the audience to the Book of Revelation and the unfolding count down to the end of days.

Special speaker Pastor Patricia Douglas, NEC Children’s Ministries Director, challenged the children to serve the Lord and appealed to the Church to make use of the men and women of tomorrow.

Sabbath Worship (July 12th 2014)

The Children's story was done by Clarence Crosdale. It was more a talk about a child's prayer rather than a story itself. It got the children thinking and two even volunteered to pray. The highlight of the morning was the Sabbath School programme. The David and Goliath play. Watch it here.

Paid in Full by a Glass of Milk

This Sabbath story is about a little boy who was very hungry and asked for a glass of water from someone. Years later that boy grew up to become a famous doctor. The person that gave him that glass of milk became very ill and no one could help her. It was this doctor that saved her life.

While in hospital recovering from surgery she was worrying about the enormous expense the bill was going to be. She received the bill and signed below – “paid in full by a glass of milk.” Listen to the story here:

Mark Langston was the speaker for the divine hour and he had an interesting story using the symbolism of a mirror and soap for God's Law and His Grace. His story was well received by two little boys who were quite animated with Mark's presentation. I just had to post it here!

Sabbath Worship January 18, 2014

Pastor Brown arrived in Central Brazil to attend a seminar. He had never been to Brazil before and was a little apprehensive as he had heard tales about the high level of crime there. As he booked into a small hotel across the town from where the meetings were due to take place, he asked the man at Reception the best way to get to the meeting, Pastor Brown had hired a car for the duration of his stay. The man advised that he drive to a nearby car park, leave his car there and take the bus to the meeting. In this way he would not have the worry of driving in a strange neighbourhood and finding a suitable parking space.

On the day of the meeting Pastor Brown drove to the car park, left his car and got on the bus. The meeting went well and Pastor got the bus which would take him back to his car. He asked the driver to let him know when they reached the carpark.  The long travel made Pastor fall into a deep sleep. He woke suddenly and realised he must have gone too far on the bus. The driver had forgotten to call him but advised that he should get off the bus and wait for the bus going in the opposite direction which was due very soon. By now it was dark and the street was deserted, breathing a prayer for God’s protection Pastor Brown waited for the bus.

Coming up the road were 2 obviously drunk men and Pastor hid in the shadows. Then he thought I am a big man they are drunk I can cope with them if they turn nasty. He decided to ask them for directions, they agreed and each took an arm of Pastor Brown but tried to pull him into the shadows. He quickly breathed a prayer “God help me” At that point a car suddenly appeared, the driver called to him to get in the car. Running Pastor did that and the car drove off. The male driver said I will take you to your car, we will enter the car park through the back entrance, I will wait until you get in your car, start the engine and then I will go. That is exactly what happened as pastor started his car and looked up to say thanks, there was no car there!

The next morning, he returned to the car park to pay the parking fee. He explained to the attendant what had happened the previous night. To his amazement the car attendant informed him there was no back entrance to the car park, and indeed there was no break in the perimeter wall!

Pastor Brown realised he had been helped by an angel, indeed he had SAT by an angel in the car and had not known.

Remember-you never walk alone.
