Sabbath Worship (March 12th 2016)
Speaker : Sister Natalie Simon
Title : Peter, Simon the Tanner & Cornelius
Scripture Reading : Acts 10:1-8
Peter is staying with a tanner in Joppa. Sister Natalie asks what is the significance of this statement? The Jews think that a tanner is unclean, a tanner works with unclean animals. The mosaic law says that such a person is unclean.
Simon's house is by the sea, this is because a tanner's home has to be a distance from the town. Peter's association with the tanner is contrary to the jewish law.
Sister Natalie spoke of Peter been a bit slow to catch on to things. She described Peter as a terrible open minded person by just staying with Simon. She spoke of the reason of Peter waiting on the roof for lunch. Just image the smell inside such a house! She spoke of the condition the house may be in, really smelly and hot. So the roof would be must likely the only place thats refreshing.
She spoke of the version Peter has on the roof of this humble man's home. Listen to what she says about it...
Sister Natalie song this song below at the end of her sermon. The song comes late in the video around 6 mins or so. Natalie's verson was much softer.
