Title | Grow in Grace |
Scripture | Philip and the Ethiopian Eunuch - Acts 8:26-40 |
The Sabbath School theme for the day was Growing in Grace (2 Peter 3:17-18), it began with prayer and a wonderful reading pertaining to growing in grace. This was followed by a wonderful open lesson study taken by Brother Donald Macintosh. Everyone was allowed to participate, adding clarity to the lesson. Throughout the morning, readings and thoughts on what growing in grace meant to them.
Sabbath School programme lead by D. Mcintosh.
The theme continued into the main service. The children’s story was in regards to a defiant little boy due a large punishment and someone stepping in to take the beating for him. Brother Michael explained the moral of the story by depicting how Jesus took everything for us. A very uplifting story relishing thoughts of grace and righteousness delivered to us although we are not worthy, each scar belonged to us but Jesus bore them all.
The program was followed by a children’s song “A Gift to you”, to elaborate the words were befitting for growing in grace the children sang beautifully and earned a hearty amen from the brethren and were applauded for the depth of joy throughout the song.

The day moved on to a vegetarian lunch fellowship prepared by the church family and was wholeheartedly appreciated by all.
This was followed by Spiritual food in keeping with the theme growing in grace. Brother Donald Macintosh began with choruses. Afterwards, Brother Michael gave a PowerPoint presentation about the history of Sabbath School, its goals and function in our church.
His slide was instructive and educational. It explained how growing in grace begins from hearing the Word, then Sabbath school enhances the journey by its teaching and studying which leads to being baptized which goes back to growing further by more teaching to water the Word which aids growth to be ever flourishing. It explained our important role of delivering love too newly converts, our duty to Christ by assisting and nurturing these members.
We had visitors from around the Bilston area and churches such as Wednesfield SDA Church. We thank everyone for coming and sharing in this inspiring journey – to grow in grace. We happily invite you all to continue visiting us any time.
