Title : Fixing Broken Familes
Scripture Reading : Genesis 45: 1-7
This is the best place to be, in the presence of God, in His house, Elder Palmer said. There are many that don't have this privilege and we should enjoy been in God’s house this day. He noted that we should value the time we have to worship together.
He noted that one of the biggest evil that exist today is slavery. He said that there are over 4 million slaves living in modern day America, even slavery is here in UK. This evil shouldn't be in existence today, but it is. This is the worse crime in the world.
To be sold into slavery by your own family is far worse. Sold into slavery by a Christian family is the ultimate evil (reference here is the life of Joseph). It is beyond comprehension, God is saying to us that some of the evils in the world are also in the church.
The Elder thanks God that God still wants to mend broken families, even in the church. He notes that it is the Devil’s job to break up the family. He began with his efforts to break up the family of God in heaven and now he is here targeting the families. The devil so hates unified families.
The Elder states that the God we serves specialises in fixing broken families. He spoke about the Jeremy Kyle show. What on earth is happening in those families he questions? (Editor – I wonder too!). He knows that all the problems in the home is not man made, its Satan working to break the family up. We have to work hard to keep our family strong.
