Once again the Trip Master was at work, with a trip this summer to Southport, which is 7 miles south-east of Manchester City. With a coach drive of two hours or less, the little group of members and friends trooped of the coach to taking in the sights of Stockport.
As can be seen from the pictures, the day was overcast and a bit nippy with the wind off the sea; which was no were to be seen. It seems high tide was only twice a day. At first there wasn’t many people but as the day progressed, it became busy.
While some of the group took leisurely strolls around the town, the young quickly found the tourist attractions dotting the coast line, while others made use of the shopping attractions on offer.
It was clear from conversations that Southport had changed over the years, yet many were able to enjoy the day out and what was on offer.
