In a time of desperation, forced isolation, of panic and fear, now more than ever are we to put self aside and think of others. Many references have been made to the sacrifices our World War II veterans made over five long years of war. Civilians and military gave their all, including their lives to save others. The bond and camaraderie that that generation had is the stuff of legends today, and that is exactly the spirit that we need to have today. The spirit exemplified by one of our most humble of brothers in faith – Desmond Doss.
I hope this recall of his heroism and faith will encouraged our faith today to remember our mission to save others today.
